We get a lot of comments on our brows and yeah, we have to admit it, our brow game is kinda strong. But we had good brow mentors; both of our mama’s taught us when we were young to never over-pluck – and aside from a couple of minor incidents at University* we listened – thanks Mums! But, there are a few products we turn to when we’re in a hurry to get them looking good, because we know how much of a difference great brows can make to your face. Google ‘Christina Aguilera eyebrows’ for evidence (and a quick lol)
Sam is lucky. Her brows are naturally full and dark so she’s never had to pencil them in. They do grow FAST though so she always has to have a pair of tweezers handy to keep them in check. She gets them threaded at either Blink Brow Bar (which is nationwide, find one close to you by clicking here) or the local brow place on her high street. When it comes to products she swears by brow mascara’s – .super-lightweight brow gels containing tiny fibres to thicken brows, filling in tiny gaps and also setting them in place. There’s no fiddly pencil or powder to deal with, you just comb the gel through the brow with the little mascara wand-esque applicator. It’s foolproof, you can apply them one-handed with a babe on your lap in approx 10 seconds. Sam swears by this one by L’Oreal Paris that she has been using for years (and is mega cheap) but she also likes this one by Benefit.
Gemma has always been a pencil kinda gal. She grew up using this £2.99 eyebrow pencil (if you look in her make-up bag you’ll find two that have been sharpened to within an inch of themselves) and still swears by it but since she’s been blonde, she’s found that using a powder gives a softer finish to her brows. Her most recent discovery is this brow powder, which gives a much more diffused finish and less of a bold statement brow.
*did you know we both went to Leeds at the same time, lived two roads away and know loads of the same people yet we never met?! STRANGE!
