When we were pregnant we found nothing more frustrating than ordering loads of maternity clothes online, waiting for them to arrive to try them on and then finding that nothing looked or felt right. It’s hard enough having a rapidly changing body, but combine that with ugly maternity clothes and swollen feet, it’s not a pretty sight.
Maternity jeans seem to be a safe zone- once you find a pair that fits perfectly and comfortably you can then buy them in each colour-way and wear them to death. Perfect for dressing down with an oversized top or dress them up with a pretty blouse and a blazer until you are ready to pop. The struggle is finding a dream pair of maternity jeans. We set some pregnant mamas-to-be a trial to wear a different pair of jeans for 2 full days and report back. We want to know the nitty gritty of the jeans – do they fall down, do they cover your bum and most importantly, were you comfortable all day long?

– MAMA TRIAL EXPERT NUMBER 1: Louisa // 6 months pregnant // Tried x 2 Next styles
What pair did you try: Next // Mesh Over bump Ulitmate jeans
What size are you? Maternity 10
Were you comfortable wearing them all day? No, the bump cover is made of mesh with a silicone band and I kept fiddling with it. After a while I needed to readjust it because the silicone band was uncomfortable.
How many times a day did you have to yank them up? They definitely stayed up so zero.
Did you feel like your bum was fully covered at all times? Yup. Good bum coverage 🙂
Did they go saggy or keep their shape? Kept their shape

Did you feel like your bum was fully covered at all times? Good bum coverage. I needed to pull them up for fear of a bum view a few times but I actually think it was fear and not actual bum display.
Did they go saggy or keep their shape? Went a bit saggy but the style meant it didn’t matter (they’re boyfriend style)
