It’s officially my favourite time of year. Coat shopping time. I own a really unhealthy amount of coats, and my collection includes some gems from over 10 years ago. As we live in a country with mainly miserable weather you need a selection that will take you from September to May and each coat needs to offer something different – a hood, a print, warmth, rain protection, smart and casual. Today on This Is Mothership, it’s all about the statement coat. Something that you can throw on over your usual mum outfit and it will instantly spice it up. It’s need to be good quality and well made as it’s an investment piece and something that you will own for years and years, so don’t be afraid to splash out. Our favourites are below – obviously mine is a leopard print number from River Island (I’m so predictable) and Sam has fallen in love with this classic camel from Marks & Spencer that goes with EVERYTHING.
