A fashion, beauty and lifestyle destination for people short on time.

I love sandals. I have more pairs that I’ve collected over the years than I should have. But they all serve different purposes. They help to complete an outfit, make it look more pulled together, or more relaxed, depending on how I want to style it.

In 2017 I fell in love with the Chanel ‘Dad’ sandals. I scoured the internet and found a pair on Depop for £230. I think they are my best purchase ever. Cost per wear, we’re at about 5p! I’ve worn them to death, and I love them now just as much as I did back then.

Sandals aren’t something you need to spend loads of money on, even more so if you live in the UK and won’t have the weather to wear them often enough. However, if budget allows, chose leather over faux leather as they will last much longer.

THE BLACK SANDALS

A trend at the moment is the chunkier style with a solid footbed – great for comfort reasons, as well a making something more girly look a bit more balanced out. Think pretty dress, or a loose wide leg trouser with chunky black sandals. If something more delicate is your vibe then the snake thonged sandals from H&M are great. Check out these from River Island, which are a great dupe of the A Emery style (more on these below.)

THE RED SANDALS

I’m really enjoying adding a pop of red to my outfits, and I’ve just added these Havianas to my shopping basket. Useful in summer with a bikini, but also I love them with slouchy jeans and a t-shirt. I’ve been eyeing up the River Island lace up also, but how many red sandals is too many?

THE NEUTRAL SANDALS

It’s useful to have beige/browns/metallic sandals as they can tone down an outfit, and sometimes are a good alternative for when the black sandal look is a bit heavy. Brown is having it’s moment, and always looks chic. I love A Emery sandals, and can vouch for their comfort (I’ve worn this style for hours on end with zero pain or blisters.) It’s always useful having Birkenstocks that you can just throw on.
