So, last week we shared with you how we do our 3-step stay-put make-up base (primer, concealer, foundation) – if you missed it, click here to watch. This week we’re bringing you the Easy Eye Tutorial.
We often get asked how we do our eyeliner and what we use on our brows so we thought we’d show you. It’s really simple and not at all hard to recreate: we both go for a natural eyelid, a flick of liner, strong lashes (we like thick and we like volume) and top it all off with some simple brow defining. Our eye routine is tried and tested with a toddler balanced on one knee. The products are all easy to use and hopefully we’ll show you some tricks below if you’re not sure exactly how you should be applying your products.
Watch how we do it all in the video below. We’ve also listed every one of our eye essentials too. Hope it helps!
On Gemma’s face:
So it may seem like I’m taking longer than Sam here but that’s really just because I’m a total perfectionist. On my brows I use Benefit Goof Proof Eye Pencil, it’s so easy to use – I draw in really tiny, fine looking ‘hairs’ and it looks totally natural // My eyeliner is Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner in Black. It costs around£5 and I have been using it for YEARS. If you look back at our very first ‘whats in our make-up bags’ you’ll see what a Rimmel obsessive I was. For me, this is the best. I don’t get the waterproof version on purpose, because that really never comes off. I guess it does what it says on the tin! // For lashes I’m currently using Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara which I’m quite into but it’s not my favourite. Any suggestions for good, non-smudging mascara? Send them my way.
On Sam’s face:
I find that my eyeliner lasts a lot better if it has something to ‘cling’ to so I either sweep my bronzer brush across my lids or use a taupey shade of cream shadow for easy eye definition. The one I’m using here is RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer // Next, my liner: it has to be felt tip and it has to be inky black. This one is Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen, but I also love Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner and Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen, pricey but lasts forever // Mascara: always black, a hefty wand, always for volume: I swear by Max Factor False Lash Effectand have worn it for years(every time I wear it someone asks me if my lashes are my own) but this is Clinique High Impact Mascara which is just as good, maybe a bit better if you have sensitive eyes // My brows are naturally big, bushy and dark so I barely have to do anything with them but if they are a bit on the wild side pre-threading appointment, I groom them with L’Oreal Paris Brow Plumper thatI’m using hereor Benefit Gimme Brow, both of which apply like a mascara, takes two seconds and are utterly foolproof. In my waterline it’s always a nude eyeliner – a make-up artist trick for eradicating redness and making eyes look wide awake – Nars Larger The Life LongWear Eyeliner in Rue Bonaparte is my swear by but Rimmel has a great one for under £4, the link is here.
